I have always heard that since the Mayans actually had many different calendars, that this was only one of them. That they have calendars that do continue running for another 8,000+ years! For the most part, if there is any reason to believe that this "end of the world" is actually THE end of the world, it may come from all of the above mentioned cataclysmic events. Hopefully if that is the case, they all go quick and are as painless as possible for all souls on our planet. I'm sure there are other planets with life that have had their civilizations extincted before.

I've reayd many articles that talks about teh doomsday happening in 2 years time. It may sound ridiculous but the even occurred before based on Mayan Calendar are exact. My idea on that change in 2010 is that the movement of sun will differ from its normal movement. That is why they call it change. I also saw a documentary called Zeit Geist and they talk about this 2010 event in there.
